If America had remained 90% White and was not threatened by the massive invasion of strongly identified groups hostile to the traditional people and culture of America, there would be no reason for Whites to develop a strong racial identity. Individualism works well in homogeneous, implicitly White societies, but will break down under the current multi-cultural onslaught. When people perceive themselves to be under threat from cohesive outgroups, psychological mechanisms of social identity kick in and they assume a group identity themselves—even people who are prone to individualism.  |

The corporate-financier elite which dominates the Western media are attempting in vain to redirect the growing anger of the American people toward the middle class, with President Obama leading the way in a clumsy demagogic campaign of class warfare. 'Occupy Wall Street' movement is more than just a citizen standoff against the big banks. Some of the Wall Street campaigners accuse news outlets there of peddling a view of the US that bears no resemblance to the reality lived by millions of Americans... 
Wikileaks founder Julian Assange was among much anticipated speakers at mass protest in London calling for end to war in Afghanistan and foreign troops pullout. RT managed to talk to him about the military interventions and the Libyan conflict in particular.
There's a heavy police presence on patrol in New York - as the 'Occupy Wall Street' movement against bank greed enters its fourth week, and gets a deeper foothold across the US The sentiment has already spread to the country's other major cities including Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles and Washington. New York's mayor has strongly-criticised the swelling unrest against the power of Wall Street, saying that if the banks fail more people will lose their jobs. The protests have already cost the city about two million dollars. And, while most brush off the demonstrators as anarchists, RT's Anastasia Churkina has discovered it's a far more organized set up. 
As the Occupy Wall Street movement grows in America, campaigners are getting the idea that they are battling the wealthy minority of their own population that has adjusted the country's legislation to their own benefit, neglecting the sum of things. RT's Lori Harfenist found out on the streets of New York that the "Occupy Wall Street" protests have been inspired by "the failure of the system to respond to higher calling for our country."

Washington is threatening to leave UNESCO without American cash, as the world's education and heritage group moves a step closer to allowing Palestine to join. The US is currently giving tens of millions of dollars to UNESCO, but can't legally fund any UN body that admits a non-UN member state. The culture group has agreed to put the Palestinian bid to its members for approval by the end of the month. It's a key diplomatic victory for the Palestinians at the UN ahead of the vote on its statehood. However, there's still fierce opposition from Washington, which says a legitimate state can only be achieved through direct talks with Israel.
